BS Dictionary # 2

mappeal [ma (as in Matilda) -peel]

Etymology: MA-FEL (bus line plying EDSA) + appeal

Those precious, precious fabrics...

The attraction of bus passengers to the front row seats, as they all migrate toward the front over the course of a long trip. Antisocial maggots, however, ignore convention and merely stand near the entrance of the bus at the front end, blocking the aisle for embarking and debarking passengers.

May be related to the now common TV screens at the front of air-conditioned buses. However, mappeal also exists in ordinary buses and buses that play only music. Recent researchers speculate that this behavior is related to the Jeepney Seat Syndrome (disambiguation).
