– While riding in the bus earlier this afternoon, I had an epiphany: The perfect Manny Pacquiao movie. It came from hearing Simon and Garfunkel’s song on the radio. Here’s the plot. Manny (played by a boy) is a poor Filipino in the 1900’s who get into America (instead of just Manila) to work. He gets menial jobs not unlike what he got as a boy. He eventually gets discovered in boxing circles and plays to big rollers as Manny Pacquiao until he loses and returns to humble roots. Not necessarily a bad ending but highlighting the essence of the fighter. Maybe give people the reason why he chooses politics over sports. It will be a sad movie, and although he may or may not die in the end, it will be a movie of emotion, not action.
– My thoughts are with the deceased Jojo Acuin.
